The Chapter Council consists of representaties of each of the 36 CNPS chapters. It meets four times a year at locations that rotate around the state. The Council fulfils specific duties that are described in the CNPS bylaws, and the meetings also facilitate networking and information sharing between the chapters, the Board of Directors, and the CNPS staff. Meetings are open to all CNPS members and their guests.
