- 9:00a – Field trip- Woodland Regional Park Preserve
The preserve’s alkali prairie and vernal pool communities contain rare and sensitive species, but encroaching invasives have been the site’s biggest challenge. Jennifer Hogan will focus on the targeted weed control efforts, and botanist Lorena Guerrero will help explain the flora. A bird monitoring expert may join us. Many organizations participate in education and stewardship at the Preserve, including Tuleyome, Davis Explorit, Yolo Bird Alliance, Ducks Unlimited, and of course CNPS.
