Motels - When contacting a motel by phone, if you request a "discount" (e.g., AAA, senior, etc.) you can often get a quote lower than what is advertised online. Additionally, motels sometimes are willing to match the price of nearby competitors. Vacation Rentals - Often more pleasant than a motel. If shared with several people, this option can sometimes be less expensive. Before booking, make sure that you know the full cost, which typically includes additional fees. Camping
