If you contact a motel directly by phone, consider requesting a discount, e.g., AAA, senior, etc. Motels sometimes are willing to match the price of nearby competitors.

Camping: - There is no camping convenient to the meeting. However, if you wish to camp before of after the meeting, see the initial mailing for suggestions in the East Bay Regional Park District and Mount Diablo State Park.

Home Stays with Local Members: - Beth Wurzburg will help match you with the volunteer hosts.
TRAVEL

Tips for the map at right - Inside the map your mouse wheel zooms the view! Click for an enlarged view with more features.

Ride sharing to Berkeley - Other delegates may be driving the same route, so why drive alone? Make friends in other chapters and share experiences.
  • During registration, let us know if you'd like to participate in ridesharing. We'll share your interest with the other like minded attendees.
  • Or use the CNPS Directory to locate colleagues along your route. An encouraging phone call from you might make the difference between someone attending live instead of just virtually.
Parking near the event - Street parking near the campus is scarce and strongly enforced. We strongly recommend using commercial parking garages - details to be added soon.

Distances and times - Expect slow traffic on all freeways on Friday afternoon after 3pm. Except at night or on weekends, avoid I-880 if possible. To avoid tie-ups, the use of real time navigation software (e.g., Google Maps) is strongly recommended.
