FRIDAY 3/1 - Los Angeles and Rancho Palos Verdes
Morning & Lunch

  • 9:00a-11:30 - Field trip: LA Natural History Museum Garden, 900 Exposition Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90007. Meet us at 9:00a for a docent-led tour of the garden.  The tour will be led by Daniel Feldman, who has been there since the garden was designed and installed by Carol Bornstein, our Saturday speaker. Parking complimentary.
  • 11:30a-1:00p - Lunch: Mercado La Paloma 3655 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90007. Walkable from HNM.
Afternoon - concurrent activities
Evening
  • 6:30 pm - Meet and Greet No-host Dinner and Beer: Brouwerij West 110 E 22nd St, San Pedro, CA 90731. Indoor/outdoor brewery with food trucks. We'll have an indoor reserved area. There is usually outdoor musical entertainment. Chilly weather possible.

SATURDAY 3/2 - Mary & Joseph Retreat Center 5300 Crest Rd, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
Morning & Afternoon
  • 8:00a-5:00p – CHAPTER COUNCIL MEETING Agenda topics tba
    • Light breakfast served at 8:00a
    • Lunch menu tba (pre-registration required).
    • Optional lunch-time walk to the Land Conservancy with views of the coast
Evening
  • 5:30p – Dinner and social hour: Menu tba (pre-registration required)
  • 7:00p – Evening talk: Speaker Carol Bornstein
  • 9:00p - Evening concludes

SUNDAY 12/3
Option 1
  • 6:00a-4:55p - Catalina Island Field Trip
    • The Catalina Island Conservancy will transport and guide us to island points of interest.  Noon meal is no-host: either catered or at Airport in the Sky Restaurant.
    • Departing/returning on Catalina Express (ferry) from Long BeachFerry leaves 6:00am from Long Beach. Planned return on 3:55 ferry.
    • There is limited seating on the island tour vehicles - pre-registration required.  
    • There are limited seats on the Ferry - reserve ASAP!
    • Option to overnight with return on Monday. (Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, sundries). Overnight accommodations courtesy of the Catalina Island Conservancy. Grocery store in town. For more info and to particpate in the overnight, contact Brent Morgan.
    • Weather could affect trip.
Option 2
  • 8:00a-11:30a - Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy field trip #2 - Forrestal Preserve with David Berman.
  • 1:00-3:30p - Wild and Scenic Film Festival - Dana Middle School, San Pedro
